Minnie Grace

Minnie Grace Tidmore-McGovern was born in Mangum, Oklahoma on January 10, 1925, to Francis Marion Tidmore and Minnie Elizabeth Kennedy-Tidmore.
She passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, in Weatherford, at the age of 100 years and 13 days; at Corn Heritage Village in Weatherford; where she had resided since November, 2022.
Minnie's mother died in 1928 and Minnie resided with her brother Sherman Tidmore and his family and eventually with her brother Durde Tidmore and his family. She graduated from Mangum High School in 1942.
Minnie moved to Monroe, Oregon in 1949, and resided with her sister Lois and husband, Albert Braswell. There she met her future husband, Vincent Paul McGovern. After marring August 16, 1952 they moved to Roseburg, Oregon where they lived all of their married life. Minnie worked for Miller's Department Store and the Douglas County Library, retiring in 1986. They enjoyed 70 wonderful years together until Vince's passing on August 30, 2022.
After retiring she and Vince traveled extensively and enjoyed Yuma, Arizona in the winters until 2009. For their 60th wedding anniversary they went on a cruise to Hawaii.
Minnie and Vince never had children of their own; but they had many nieces and nephews as well as special friends.
Minnie's wish was to be cremated and her ashes will be buried next to her husband, Vince, in Monroe, Oregon.
Minnie was the 12th child born to the family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and her siblings: Elroy O'Ran-Hershey, Dewey, Sherman, Durde, Herman, Nivelton, Lois Braswell, Juanita, Geneva, Milford and Lydia Silk.
The family would like to thank Corn Heritage Village of Weatherford and Traditions Health for their compassion and quality of care given to support Minnie.
