Melvin Roy Lancaster was born on October 20, 1936, in Pendleton, Oregon to Otto and Mary (Richardson) Lancaster and passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at home in Thomas, at the age of 84 years, 1 month, and 26 days.

Melvin was raised and attended school in numerous states. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  On June 2, 1959, Melvin married Deanna Donelson in Tulsa and made their home in Skiatook, Colorado and Collinsville.  In 1962, they moved to Thomas to raise their family.  He worked for the Christensen family with their farming.

Melvin is survived by his wife of 61 years, Deanna Lancaster of their home in Thomas; one son, Melvin Lancaster and wife, Tammy of Thomas; one daughter, Vivica Gossett and husband, Darryl of Thomas; one sister, Ivadale Borror of Thomas; two grandsons, Melvin Roy Lancaster III, and Mason Lancaster; one granddaughter, Billie Baker; and brother-in-law, Larry Donelson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Cora.
