Memorial services for Maxwell Lloyd Lanier, 66 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017, 2:00 P.M. in The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home with Earl Stephenson officiating.

Max was born June 9, 1950, in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Lloyd and Norma (Hawkins) Lanier and passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017. Max was raised and attended school in Weatherford and graduated from Weatherford High School in 1968. He started farming when he graduated and later attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he received degrees in Industrial Tech and Psychology. In 2012, he moved to Gunnison, Colorado and returned to Weatherford in 2016. Max enjoyed visiting with friends, being outdoors, hunting and fishing.

Max is survived by four sons, Charles Milacek of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Aaron Lanier of Norman, Oklahoma, Jacob Lanier and Sean Lanier all of Weatherford, Oklahoma; two brothers, Bob Lanier and wife, Patty and Phil Lanier and wife, Penny all of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one sister, Debbie Willis and husband, Tom of Weatherford, Oklahoma; and the mother of his children, Teresa Middleton. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Cindy; and one brother in infancy, Larry Don.
