Graveside services for Maxine Nellie Poole, 86 year-old former Watonga, Oklahoma resident, will be held Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the IOOF Cemetery in Watonga, Oklahoma with James Farmer officiating, under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Maxine was born August 3, 1926 in Fay, Oklahoma, the 6th of 7 children of Eli and Rosa (Redden) Phipps and passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the Sterling House in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Maxine went to live with her Aunt Rachel and Uncle Oscar Redden in 1934. She attended Eureka School and graduated from Hitcock High School in 1944. Maxine married Charlie Poole in 1945 and made their home in Watonga, Oklahoma for a short period and then moved to Illinois. They moved back to Oklahoma City in 1953. In 1958, they adopted a baby girl, Sheryl. In 1974, they moved to her Aunt and Uncles farm to become farmers. Maxine went to work at Watonga Hospital in 1975. She attended Hitcock Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Research Association.

Maxine is survived by her brother, Don Phipps and wife, Jane of Greensboro, Georgia; a sister, Rosa Toots Weideman of Wichita, Kansas; and a host of loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eli and Rosa Phipps; Aunt Rachel and Uncle Oscar Redden; husband, Charlie; daughter, Sheryl; one brother, Melvin Phipps; and three sisters, Valera Renfrow, Opal Dana, and Faye Johnson.
