Mary Charlene Whittom was born to Herman Willard Rumbold and Elsie Jean Founds on May 24, 1945 in Marietta, Ohio and died on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at her home in Thomas, Oklahoma having reached the age of 72 years, 5 months, 7 days.

Mary was raised in Marietta, Ohio where she attended Marietta Schools. After high school, she attended and graduated from Clinton Cosmetology School in Clinton, OK. She married Gary Howard on June 10, 1972 in Thomas, Oklahoma. Mary pursued and fulfilled her lifelong dream when she became the owner and operator of "The Carousel" beauty salon in Thomas, Oklahoma for several years before relocating to Cushing and Stillwater communities to continue her lifelong career of nearly 35 years. While there, she met and married Charles Whittom of Cushing, OK.

Mary devoted her life serving God, spending countless hours witnessing and professing her faith to numerous people. During her many years of service to the Lord, she served as a Sunday school teacher, bible school teacher and was chosen as a deaconess to lead in her church. Mary's passion for living her life for God motivated her throughout her life to volunteer her time by assisting others to church and helping them in their time of need. Mary also took pride in her sewing group, which made special dresses to send to orphans in third world countries.

She is survived by one son, Roscoe Lipscomb of Thomas, Oklahoma; two daughters, Tammy Crites and her husband, Justin of Westville, Oklahoma and Cindy Yeager and her husband, David of Thomas, Oklahoma; two step-sons, Charles Whittom Jr. of Stroud, OK, and William Whittom of Glasgow, KY; three step-daughters, Rose Taylor and husband, S.T. of Parsons, KS, Phyllis Middleton of Glasgow, KY, and Donna Duerr of Doniphan, MO; four grandchildren, Taylor Lovell and her husband, Ricky Lovell of Muldrow, Oklahoma, Nichole Weaver and her husband, Kevin of Thomas, Oklahoma, D.J. Yeager and Shayla Yeager of Thomas, Oklahoma; thirteen step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, Serenity Weaver, Chevy Weaver, Sydney Weaver, Corbin Weaver and Tildyn Lovell; 18 step great-grandchildren; one sister, Delores Nishimuta of Cushing, Oklahoma, and several nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Elsie Rumbold; three brothers, Don Rumbold, Bob Rumbold and Delmar Rumbold; two grandchildren,

Lance Jared Howard and Hannah Faith Moreland; and her late husband, Charles Whittom.
