Obituary

Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Colberg was born February 5, 1948, in Ft. Worth, Texas to J.P. and Johnnie (Burns) Kight and passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019, at Corn Heritage Village of Corn, Oklahoma, at the age of 71 years, 2 months, and 20 days.

Beth was raised and attended school in Ft. Worth, Texas, graduating from Eastern Hills High School in 1966. She attended North Texas University in Denton, Texas. On June 6, 1969, Beth married Johnny Colberg in Ft. Worth, Texas and they made their home in Hobart, Oklahoma. To this union they had one son, Shane. In 1980, they moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma. Beth worked in several different furniture stores where she found her niche in life. She loved people and decorating. Beth loved the outdoors, taking the camper and camping, fishing, gardening, cookouts and all of nature. Animals held a special place in her heart, with having horses, dogs, and pigs over the years. If she saw an animal, she wanted to help it. Shane was an only child so anyone that he brought home she just kind of adopted them as one of her own. Beth never met a stranger. She was right there for any sport or whatever Shane wanted to try, even when he tried the rodeo circuit. Beth had a smile for everyone and a contagious laugh that will be greatly missed.

Beth is survived by her son, Shane Colberg and wife, Brenda of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one brother, Eddie Kight of Arlington, Texas; and one sister, Marty Schlipf and husband, Freddy of Ft. Worth, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.P. and Johnnie Kight and husband, Johnnie Colberg.

Memorials may be made to the Weatherford Animal Shelter.
