Funeral service for Mary Ann Chambers, 85 year-old Weatherford resident, will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 1:00 PM in The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home with Tuffy Wigley and Chuck Samples officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Mary Ann Chambers was born on August 11, 1934 to Bernard and Nadine (Mauldin) Hutcheison in Fort Worth, TX and was then adopted by Cullen Darnell. She passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Weatherford Regional Hospital at the age of 85 years, 6 months, 24 days.
Mary Ann spent her early childhood in Arizona and the family moved to the Eakly area and she graduated from Lookeba-Sickles High School in 1952. On June 14, 1953 she married Donnie Lee Chambers in the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and they made their home in Shawnee, OK where Mary Ann worked at GE. Mary Ann and Donnie lived many places while Donnie was a minister including Pauls Valley, Paoli, Lexington, Hooker and Guymon. In 1992, Mary Ann and Don settled in Weatherford and Mary Ann worked as a home caregiver. Mary Ann enjoyed spending time with her family and raising her children, gardening, sewing, and making dresses for her granddaughters.
Mary Ann is survived by one son, Gary Chambers and wife Tammy of Searcy, Arkansas; one daughter, Denise Vazquez of Weatherford, Oklahoma; two brothers, Cullen Darnell Jr. and wife Edith of Loveland Colorado, Bobby Hutcheison and wife Ginger of Angleton, Texas; three sisters, Olive Harvey of El Reno, Oklahoma and Louann White and husband Jerry of El Reno, Oklahoma and Barbara Hohman and husband Rick of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; nine grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donnie Chambers; two sisters, Geraldine and Laura; one brother, Billy; one son, Stephen; two grandsons, Christopher and Deric; and one great-granddaughter, Nikol. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Weatherford Oklahoma.
