Funeral services for Mart H. Hollan, 83 year-old Colony, Oklahoma resident, will be held Friday, January 13, 2017, 10:00 A.M. in the Colony Church of Christ with Bruce Mayfield officiating. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mart was born May 13, 1933, at home in Summerfield, Oklahoma to L.S. and Easter (Gray) Hollan and passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at OU Trauma Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mart was born fourth in a family of nine children. During the Great Depression, times were hard but being from a large family the children grew up close and learned to have fun playing pranks on each other, hunting and fishing. In August of 1955, Mart met who was to be his lifelong helpmate. On October 31, 1955, he married Charlene Bowman in Poteau, Oklahoma. Charlene was beside him as he was to her; from the time they married until Mart went home to be with our creator. Mart was blessed with three grandchildren; Clay, Chance, then Dawnel. Oh my! Dawnel came along shes the one who re-named Gandpa and Grandma to Papa and Mame. These grandchildren gave Papa great joy. He took them hunting, fishing, driving in the little red pickup or on the tractor. Whatever made them happy made Papa happy. Memorials may be made to the Colony Church of Christ.

Mart is survived by his wife of 61 years, Charlene Hollan of their home in Colony, Oklahoma; one son, Marty Clay Hollan and wife, Beth of Colony, Oklahoma; one daughter, Marquetta Hollan of Colony, Oklahoma; two sisters, Ruby Bettis and husband, Frank of Mammoth Springs, Arkansas and Carolyn Phillips and husband, Ronald of Toledo, Illinois; three grandchildren, Dawnel Snider and husband, Justin, Clay Humbargar and wife, Misty, and Chance Isaak and wife, Autumn; and five great-grandchildren, Cole, Kinidi, Cade, Saylor and Westin. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; five brothers; and an infant daughter.
