Obituary

Lynda Claussen Clark, 83, of Thomas, Oklahoma, passed away on April 30, 2026, in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

She was born on June 29, 1942, in Thomas, Oklahoma, to Marvin and Loriene Claussen. She attended Thomas public schools, and also worked at her aunt's cafe in Thomas. She later worked in Oklahoma City at an insurance office for a short time. Lynda married Otis Clark on March 3rd, 1962. Over the years, Otis and Lynda made their home in Altus, Okmulgee, Muskogee, Bethel Acres, San Marcos, TX, Shawnee, and Thomas, Oklahoma.

Lynda is survived by her children: Gordon and Karyn Clark of Duxbury, Massachusetts, and their children Matty Clark, Mariel Clark and Melanie Clark; Gary and Kelsey Clark of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and their children Katie and Jake Holliday, Emily and Ryan Harris, and Nathan and Katie Clark; Deborah and Howard Dyck of Thomas, Oklahoma, and their children Connor and Ashlyn Simmons, Duncan and Hailey Simmons, Ryan and Koral Dyck, Lani and Charles Bell, and Jordan and Hannah Dyck; and Diana and James Keys, and their children Nicole Keys, Austin and Sarah Keys, and Justin Keys.

She is also survived by her sisters, Marienne and her husband Gary Leddy of Leedy, Oklahoma, and Carol and her husband Larry Goyer of Weatherford, Oklahoma; and her sister-in-law, Glenda Claussen of Thomas, Oklahoma; as well as other family members including cousins, nieces and nephews and great grandchildren.

Lynda was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Claussen, her parents, Marvin and Loriene Claussen; her husband, Otis Clark; and her brother, Donnie Claussen.

Lynda cherished her role as a wife and mother. She also taught water aerobics for over 30 years, including 20 years at the YMCA in Weatherford. She was active in her church and faithfully volunteered as a leader in Awana at Bethany Church in Thomas.

Lynda and Otis enjoyed traveling together, as well as building and remodeling their homes. They loved taking cruises and participating in ballroom dancing lessons.

Friendships were very important to Lynda. She treasured time with dear friends, including Liana Dobbins and the many "ladies" from her water aerobics classes throughout the years, who she referred to as "my ladies".

A celebration of Lynda's life will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Church in Thomas, Oklahoma. Visitation will be Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 12:00-8:00 p.m. with family present 6:00-8:00 p.m., as well as Monday, May 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Great Plains Family YMCA in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
