Luis was born November 25, 1947 in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico to Aveleno and Palmira Rodriguez. He was the oldest of eleven children. Luis departed this life December 21, 2020, in Corn Heritage Village of Corn, Oklahoma having reached the age of 73 years and 26 days.
Luis accepted Christ at an early age. Luis was raised and attended school in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico. He graduated with honors and proceeded to Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico and achieved his Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Luis joined the Army and served during the Vietnam War. After the war he continued in the armed forces working at several sites among the US until transferring to the Indian Health Services, where he worked on several reservations assisting the Native American population. He then went into the Federal Bureau of Prisons where he finished his 30 years with the federal government. He retired with the rank of O-5 in the United States Public Health Services.
Luis was joined in holy matrimony with Cristina Salazar on July 31, 1969 in El Paso, Texas. To this union three sons were born.
Luis's greatest past time was traveling with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren. He liked to run and ride his bicycle and was always seen at the YMCA in Weatherford.
He is survived by his wife Cristina and sons Luis and Carlos, five grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
