Lucille Carolyn
Ralston
December 24, 1935 – January 10, 2024
Lucille Carolyn (Larson) Ralston was born on December 24th, 1935 to Oscar Luther Larson and Eunice Virgie King Larson in Sickles, Ok at the Hileman Place. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters and loved ones at Corn Heritage Village of Weatherford, at the age of 88 years and 16 days.
As a child, she was raised at the family farm in Sickles, OK. She was baptized in 1947 in her Grandpa Larson's creek with her younger sister Jeanette and attended the Oakdale Missionary Baptist Church.
She graduated from Sickles High School in 1954, where she was involved in many activities and was quite the basketball player earning the nickname of "Bones" for being so tall and slender. This is where she met the love of her life Jerry Ralston. They were married on June 5th, 1954, in Sickles at Oakdale Missionary Baptist Church and made their home in Binger before moving to Alamosa, CO in 1955 to work for Jerry's family at a Sawmill and Logging Company. While in Colorado they had daughter Kimberly Lu in 1957. They then moved back to Binger, Ok and later Weatherford Ok where they had daughter Katrina Sue in 1962.
Lucille was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Weatherford and helped in the nursery, with vacation bible school and several church committees. Lucille worked as a seamstress at The Smart Shop for 25 years and later worked from home doing the same. She enjoyed going to gospel singing events and traveling with her little sister and best friend Jeanette. She also loved watching basketball, cooking, and cake decorating but was best known for her beautiful quilting and sewing abilities. Lucille made well over 250 quilts and 2000+ teddy bears. Many of which were given to friends, family, or donated to loved ones and charity. Lucille was a Girl Scout leader, and member of the Western Oklahoma Quilters Guild. She made all of her children's and grandchildren's swimsuits, dresses, and outfits. She also made the Weatherford High School and Southwestern State College cheer uniforms, altered and made many prom dresses, wedding dresses, Halloween costumes and suits.
Lucille loved spending time with her family and friends. Whether that was attending multiple annual family reunions for each side of her family, family holidays or hosting her annual Christmas party she made everyone feel like family in her home and no one dared go home hungry or without leftovers. She always told her family and loved ones - If we can laugh a little each day then it's been a good day. Her contagious smile and laughter will be missed by all that knew her.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Eunice Larson, and husband Jerry Ralston.
She is survived by sisters Jeannette Peck of Hydro, OK and Geneva Rives of Kingston, Canada, daughters Kim and David Dresser of Hydro, OK, Katrina and Andy Sisler of Weatherford. Grandchildren Melissa and Joe Morgan of Weatherford, OK, Tinaya Sisler of Galveston, TX, Jared Sisler of Weatherford, OK, Kaci and Kennith Nunn of Hydro, OK and great-grandchildren Kaitlyn and Reagan Settles, Gus Dickey, Addison, Penny and Lannie Nunn and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special loved ones.
