Funeral: 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 30th, 2015Colony Church of Christ

Funeral services for Louise Rogers Richter, 91 year-old Corn, Oklahoma resident, will be held Tuesday, June 30 , 2015, at 10:00 A.M. in the Colony Church of Christ in Colony, Oklahoma with Ezell Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Eakly Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Louise was born July 14, 1923, in Eakly, Oklahoma to Olland and Ollie (Gordon) Chambers and passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015, at Corn Heritage Village in Corn, Oklahoma. She was raised west of Eakly and attended Eakly Public Schools, graduating in 1939. After high school, she went to college at Southwestern Oklahoma State for a year. Then, she married Lewis Rogers in El Paso, Texas and they made their home in Hydro while he was overseas during World War II. Louise and her sister had a beauty shop in Hydro and she loved her work. Later, Louise and her husband moved to a farm northeast of Colony where they lived until they retired from farming in 1972. She enjoyed reading, playing scrabble, traveling, and quilting.

Louise is survived by one son, Rudell Rogers of Foss, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Rogers of Foss, Oklahoma; two brothers, Wesley Chambers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Leon Chambers and his wife, Caroline of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Geraldine Sims of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Thyra Barney of Ft. Worth, Texas; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewis Rogers; one son, Darryl Rogers; one daughter-in-law June Rogers; two brothers, Truman and O.B; one sister, Imogene; and one great-grandson.
