Funeral services for Lorene (Cross) Sage, 87 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Monday, July 11, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at the Columbian Memorial Presbyterian Church in Colony, Oklahoma with Gerald Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Colony Indian Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home. Wake service will be held Sunday, July 10, 2016, 7:00 P.M. at the Indian Baptist Church in Weatherford.

Lorene was born December 6, 1928, in Colony, Oklahoma to William and Edna (Hadley) Cross and passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at the Weatherford Regional Hospital. Lorene was raised and attended school in Colony and graduated from Colony High School in 1947. On April 21, 1948, she married Victor Sage in Colony and made their home south of Colony. They moved to Weatherford in 1969. Lorene worked at the Mark Restaurant, SWOSU Student Union, and later the Pioneer Center. She enjoyed sewing, reading, Indian beadwork, loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family.

Lorene is survived by one son, David Wayne Sage of Seattle, Washington; three daughters, Edna Bowen, Agnes Marie Sagebark, and Joetta Sage Maurer all of Weatherford, Oklahoma; adopted sister, Effie Beartrack of Weatherford, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, William Levi Sage Jr., Louie Rosas-Sage, Bobby Rosas, Neesha Sage, David Sagebark, Jr., Allison Sagebark, Samuel Aranda, Carlos Aranda, Gina Aranda, Christopher Shane Maurer, and Cayla Cheyenne Maurer; nineteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four children, Samuel, William, Orren, and Darrell; brother, Lavern Cross; two sisters, Henrietta Ellis and MaryAnn Koons.
