Funeral: 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 21st, 2013First United Methodist Church

Funeral services for Lois Darlene Garrison, 86 year-old Weatherford resident, will be held at First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Lynn Brack officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Lois was born on August 9, 1926 in Hallam, Nebraska to John and Rose (Chalupa) Werger and passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Sterling House of Weatherford. She was raised and attended school in Hawks Springs, Wyoming, graduating from high school in 1945. She worked as a dental assistant. She married Raymond Garrison on October 25, 1948 in Gering, Nebraska, and they made their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma. They lived many placesCanute, Douglas, Covington, Richmond, Jefferson, Ringwood, Newcastle, Tonakawa, and Washington, D.C. before moving to Cordell in 1969 and Weatherford in 1974. She spent 20 years teaching and thought it was very important to teach children to read. Lois was involved with many organizations such as: volunteer at the Pioneer Center, president of the Sunday school, president of the UMW at church, Eastern Star member, Kappa Kappa Iota, and a member of the Guild at church. She enjoyed volunteer work, walking, sewing, traveling, crafts, playing cards, cooking, and square dancing. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.

Lois is survived by one son, Stan Garrison and his wife Tammy of Weatherford; one daughter, Twila Maynard and her husband Herschel of Weatherford; three grandchildren; Christy Green and husband Steven of Boerne, Texas, Denise Baalson and husband Jon of Houston, Texas, Jylian Voight and husband Rusty of Weatherford. Six great-grandchildren; Stetson Green, Tristan Green, Garrison Green, Haley Baalson, Avry Voight, Camryn Voight. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond Garrison; two brothers, Virgil and Darrel Werger; and three sisters, Sylvia, Shirley, and Beverly.
