Lindel
Thomason
December 16, 1937 – December 7, 2025
Lindel Thomason was born on December 16th, 1937, to Albert and Bertha Thomason on the family farm east of Hydro. He grew up with a strong work ethic and deep love for family—values that shaped the rest of his life.
He graduated from Hydro High School, studied at Southwestern, and completed his degree at Central State. Lindel worked for General Electric in Oklahoma City before returning home to Hydro, where he spent 20 years with 3M as a purchasing agent.
Lindel was baptized at an early age and lived a life grounded in faith. In 1957 he married his high school sweetheart, Judy Eakins, and together they raised two sons, Don and Ken. While living in Oklahoma City, Lindel served as assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 117 and was active at Putnam City Methodist Church. After returning to Hydro, he faithfully served at First Christian Church as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, elder, and board chairman.
He enjoyed gardening, quail hunting, searching for arrowheads, and collecting buffalo figurines. His quiet strength, gentle humor/orneriness, and steady kindness will be remembered by all who knew him.
Lindel is survived by his wife Judy; sons Don (Debbie) and Ken (Kathy); granddaughters Sonya (Adam) Sirk, Katrina (Kenny) Head, Dana Thomason, Kristen (Gustavo) Garza and Katelyn (Jordan) Free; as well as 9 great-grandchildren, Sean and Kylie Head, Lily Thomason, Elena, Madelyn, and Gustavo Garza, Everett and Harrison Sirk, Cooper and Kacey Free. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Judy Thomason, Jill (Roy) Stewart, Betty Eakins, and a brother-in-law Harley (Cody) Eakins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Bertha Thomason; brother Joe Thomason; granddaughter Alicia Thomason; and grandparents Joel and Nina Stout and Burr and Eula Mae Stull.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Hydro Fire Department or First Christian Church.
