Funeral services for Linda Gayle Wichert, 62 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Friday, March 28, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church with Earl Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Linda was born April 11, 1951 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Oscar Lee and LaNelle (Evans) Mullenix and passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Linda was raised and attended school in Elk City where she graduated from Elk City High School in 1969 and was an All-State Basketball player. She attended Southwestern State College for a year before starting her family. Linda worked for Rader Insurance and was currently employed for the City of Weatherford where she has been for over 20 years. She was a very generous person and was always willing to help anyone in need. Linda enjoyed teaching the childrens Sunday School class, birds, gardening and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Weatherford.
Linda is survived by her three sons, John Wichert and wife, Carrie of Edmond, Oklahoma, Kyle Wichert and wife, Alicia of Frisco, Texas, and Barry Wichert and Angie of Thomas, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Braeden, Breanna, Britten, Alison, Samantha, Blayre, Garrett, and Chesney; one brother, Justin Mullennix and wife, Robbie of Richmond, Texas; one sister, Lanette Jay of Yukon, Oklahoma; and two nephews, Reese Mullennix of Dallas, Texas and Nick Jay of Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Ron Jay.
