Linda Gail Unwin was born October 22, 1945, in Thomas, OK, to Chalis L. "Jack" Deaton and Zelma Maude (Crum) Hight and passed away Monday, January 5, 2026, at her home in Weatherford, OK.

Linda was raised between Thomas and Custer City and attended school at Independence, before graduating from Custer City High School in 1963. On June 2, 1973, she married Jerry Lee Unwin, at their home in Custer City. This union joined their families and children - Melody and Travis - together. They soon moved to St. Peters, MO where Jerry was stationed while actively serving in the military. Linda and Jerry moved to the family farm in Chester, OK in 1981 and this is where they welcomed their daughter, Jeri. Then, in 1988, they moved to San Antonio, TX. Upon retirement in 2005, they returned to Oklahoma, making their home in Thomas and in 2008 moved to Weatherford. Linda had many hobbies including sewing, doing crafts, quilting, woodworking, painting and cooking. To her grandchildren, she was "Gran". They fondly recall spending time enjoying these hobbies with her as well, especially sewing and cooking.

Linda is survived by her husband, Jerry Unwin of their home in Weatherford; two daughters, Melody Lynn Unwin and Jeri Nagle and husband, Corey; step-son, Travis Lee Unwin and wife, Sheila; brother, Henry Deaton; three grandchildren, Nathanial, Zellie and Sadie; and one great-granddaughter, Jaina. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Mike and Dennis Deaton; and one sister, Shirley Rigsby.
