Leroy was born October 11, 1935 to William Loyd and Elva Beatrice (Delp) Curell in Weatherford, OK and passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 in Houston, TX having reached the age of 84 years, 9 months and 4 days.

Leroy was raised and attended school in Thomas and graduated from Thomas High School. After high school, Leroy enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1955. He married Elizabeth Ann Smith on June 5, 1959 in Arapaho, OK and they made their home in Thomas. Leroy worked for Western Electric as a telephone repairman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, taking trips with family.

He is survived by one son, Richard Curell; one daughter, Cheryl Cowie and her husband, Randy; two grandchildren, Brandi Franke and Jason Franke; one sister, Martha Eakin; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth; one daughter, Robin Franke; one sister, Ruth Faye Hanks; and three brothers, Bert Curell, Robert Curell and Lloyd Currell.
