Funeral services for Leona Penner, 70 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Friday, January 8, 2016, 2:00 P.M. at Zion Church with Ron Thiessen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Leona was born June 21, 1945, in Clinton, Oklahoma to William Thomas and Francis (Faulkner) Echols and passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Leona was raised and attended school in Clinton where she graduated from Clinton High School in 1963. On September 5, 1963, she married Robert Penner in Clinton, Oklahoma and made their home in Weatherford. Leona worked in child care for over 20 years before retiring to help with her husband Roberts plumbing business. She enjoyed working alongside of her husband, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and her church life.

Leona is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; one son, Robert Lee Penner of Weatherford, Oklahoma; three daughters, Laura Hopper and husband, Mike of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Jana Hodge and husband, Dean of Moore, Oklahoma and Carol Patterson and husband, Lynn of Guntersville, Alabama; one sister, Darlene Moore and husband, Dennis of Fayetteville, Tennessee; best friend of 43 years, Karen Mason and husband, Jim of Roosevelt, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Harlan Hardy Mike Echols; three sisters, Alma Blair, Irene Watts, ad Marie Roden; and one daughter in infancy.
