LaVeta Mae Heger was born December 19, 1938, to Earl and Vera Mae (McGoffin) Friesen and passed away, Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Maple Lawn Manor in Hydro, at the age of 81 years, 11 months, and 13 days.

LaVeta was raised south of Weatherford and attended Weatherford school.  On July 13, 1954, she married James Bernard "Jim" Heger in Wellington, Texas and they made their home south of Hydro where they raised their family.  LaVeta worked alongside of her husband on the family farm.  They also owned and managed rental property in Weatherford.  LaVeta had an active life raising her four boys on the family farm.  She taught herself how to cook and sew at a young age and enjoyed cooking for her big family and taking meals down to the field during harvest. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, dancing, spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

LaVeta is survived by her three sons, Larry Heger and Vicky of Weatherford, Randy Heger and Kristy of El Reno, and Jamey Heger of Hydro; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Kevin Heger; daughter-in-law, Barbara Heger; and one brother, E.L. Friesen.
