Kenneth Martin
Kuhar
December 25, 1945 – April 21, 2026
Kenneth (Ken/Kenny) Martin Kuhar was born in Bronx, New York on December 25, 1945, and passed away in Weatherford, Oklahoma on April 21, 2026, at the age of 80.
Ken grew up in Middle Village, Queens, New York. He was raised Catholic and attended Catholic school in Middle Village. After school, he worked for UPS for some time. Ken was married to Victoria Fencl from September 29, 1968, until 2001. Three daughters were born to this union, Amy and Samantha (born in NY) and Vanessa (born in KS). They lived in New York for a short time before moving to Vicky's hometown of Dodge City, Kansas in 1972. He was married to Donna Jackson from 2007 to 2022. Ken worked in construction as a builder and a roofer early in life working for Paul Droste Construction and Diamond Roofing for many years before working for ADM Milling for nearly 25 years before retiring. After retiring, Ken moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma and then Hydro, Oklahoma to be close to Vanessa and her family. Friends and family were an important part of Ken's life. He met his lifelong friend, Ron Klock as a child and the two kept their bond over the years, talking and texting regularly. Another lifelong friend was his son-in-law's father, Tony Sanchez; they became friends in the early 1980s and spent a lot of time on building projects together. Ken enjoyed playing chess, going to the casino and getting lottery tickets. He was sure that one day he would win! These things kept him entertained but Ken's true passion was woodworking. He was gifted and loved to build decks, furniture, rocking chairs and chess boards among other things. Over the years, no matter where he lived, he had a woodworking shop.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Dixon and Dorothy Flannery; his foster mother, who raised him much of his childhood, Frances Vance; sisters, Catherine Dixon, Veronica Kuhar, and Lillian Vance and brothers, John Flannery, Tom Reilly and Frankie Dorsa. He is survived by his daughters, Amy (Richard) Falcon of Dodge City, Kansas; Samantha (Brian) Nau of Pueblo, Colorado; Vanessa (Mario) Sanchez of Hydro, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Talia (Christian) Falcon Blackburn of Greensboro, NC; Tadyn Falcon of Overland Park, KS; Tevyn Falcon of Dodge City, KS; Clinton Nau of Pueblo, CO; Dylan Nau and fiancée, Jasmine of Huntsville, AL; Landen (Tianna) Nau of Pueblo, CO; Jesse (Dalton) Stafford of Enid, OK; Haylie Gerber and partner Nolan of Weatherford, OK; Alex Gerber and fiancée Kaylee of Edmond, OK; Remi Munson of Hydro, OK; Alexis (Landon) Head of Wichita, KS; Thomas Sanchez of Wichita, KS; Hayden Sanchez of Wichita, KS; Daniel Sanchez of Dodge City, KS; four great granddaughters; three great grandsons; sister, Dorothy (Rob) Peterson of Viera, FL and several nieces and nephews.
