Obituary

Kenneth Wayne Daniel was born on April 11, 1975, in Weatherford, Oklahoma, to Richard "R.C." and Martha Jean (Glass) Daniel. From the beginning, Kenneth lived life with energy, purpose, and an open heart. Raised in Weatherford, he attended school there and graduated with the Class of 1993. He was a proud Weatherford Eagle, where he made lasting friendships and shined on the football and baseball fields. As a key player, he helped lead his team to back-to-back State Championships in football in 1991 and 1992, an accomplishment he would talk about with pride for years to come.

Kenneth furthered his education at Connors State College, Redlands College, and ultimately graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1997. But long before degrees and accolades, Kenneth's heart had already been spoken for. At just 12 years old, in the 7th grade, he met Jennifer Gail Makes Cry, the girl who would become the love of his life, best friend, and lifelong partner. On January 11, 1997, Kenneth and Jennifer married, beginning a life together filled with love, laughter, and adventure.

Together, they built a warm and welcoming home in Weatherford, raising three wonderful children, Kase, Katen, and Kollinz, who were the absolute pride and joy of Kenneth's life. He was their biggest fan and guided them not only in sports but in life.

Kenneth began his career in education and coaching at Washita Heights in Corn, Oklahoma, where he served from 1999 to 2005. Coaching was more than a job, it was a calling. He was not only an accomplished coach, earning All-State honors in both softball and basketball, but he was also a mentor, role model, and steady presence in the lives of countless students. After teaching, Kenneth transitioned into the pharmaceutical industry, where his work ethic, charisma, and deep care for people led him to excel. He worked with Forest Pharmaceuticals, Purdue, Intra-Cellular Therapies, and Johnson & Johnson, earning several prestigious awards, including multiple President's Club recognitions.

Kenneth lived fully and with passion. He loved being outdoors, whether fishing at the crack of dawn, hunting, or especially raising greyhounds and hunting coyotes, or enjoying a round of golf with friends. These were the moments that recharged his spirit.

Kenneth and Jennifer opened their hearts and home to many, and it wasn't uncommon for younger generations to look up to Kenneth as a second father.

Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Jennifer Makes Cry-Daniel; his three treasured children, Kase, Katen, and Kollinz Daniel; his loving mother, Martha Daniel; his brother Michael Daniel and wife Kathryn; his Uncle Wayne Daniel and wife Jan; his in-laws, Albert and Judy Makes Cry; and many cherished extended family members, former students, teammates, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, R.C. Daniel, whose legacy Kenneth proudly carried forward. Kenneth's legacy lives on in the lives he touched with his kindness, his strength, his laughter, and his love. He was a husband, father, coach, mentor, and friend and he will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever loved.

A celebration of Kenneth's extraordinary life will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Weatherford, with Rev. Allen and Brian Cline officiating.
