Karen Sue Skinner was born on August 11, 1951 in Hobart, Oklahoma to LeRoy and Dorothy (Cook) LaFever and passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018 in Weatherford, Oklahoma, at the age of 66 years, 9 months, and 1 day.

Karen was raised and attended school in Hobart, graduating from Hobart High School in 1969. She was married and made her home in Weatherford before moving to Hobbs, New Mexico. Her family later returned to Oklahoma and she raised her family in Weatherford. She worked as a caregiver in nursing homes and later in a beauty shop until she retired in 2014. Karen enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, her dog—Roxie, camping at the lake, and watching the Oklahoma City Thunder and OU Football.

Karen is survived by two sons, Bryan Skinner and wife Sage, and Cody Skinner, all of Weatherford, OK; seven grandchildren, Kecia Walker, Caleb McNeely, Adam McNeely, Savannah Skinner, Barach Skinner, Halle Skinner, and Chisholm Skinner; one brother, Raymond LaFever of Weatherford; one nephew, Shawn LaFever; and one niece, Kelli McQuiggan. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sherry Jo; and one nephew, Kevin LaFever.
