Karen Sue Ray was welcomed through Heaven's gates on Monday, September 28th, 2020, at the age of 68 years, 2 months and 14 days. Karen was born on July 14th, 1952, in Garden City, Kansas, to George and Ruby (Wheeler) Christensen. Karen was raised in Hollis, Oklahoma, where she graduated high school in 1970. Following graduation, Karen moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma, where she attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Karen married the love of her life, Johnny Ray, on January 8th, 1973, with whom she shared two children: Jonnie and Jeffrey. Karen and John made their home in Weatherford, where she worked as a rural mail carrier for 33 years with the United States Postal Service.

Karen filled many roles: devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, blessed sister, supportive aunt, and sweet friend. Karen also was a second mother to many. Of everything Karen was involved in, there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her grandchildren.

Karen was a life-long member of Life Fellowship in Weatherford. She strived each day to be an example of Christ's love through her immense generosity and genuine love for everyone. In Karen's eyes, everyone was family, and she was always willing to share the Gospel.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Johnny Ray; daughter Jonnie Ray of Bixby; and son Jeffrey Ray and wife, Rachel, of Hydro. Karen had three brothers: George Christensen and wife, Anita, of Seattle, Washington; Terry Christensen and wife, Shara Dawn, of Bridgeport, OK; and David Christensen and wife, Bev, of Yukon, OK. Karen had five grandchildren: Dylan, Bret, Caitlin, Emma and Cassi; two goddaughters: Bethany Spann and Crystal Farrow; many nieces and nephews, and a life-long best friend, Katie McKellips.
