Funeral services for Juna Marilyn (McAnally) Shaw, 80 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Friday, August 17, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Brack officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Juna was born May 27, 1932 to J.W. and Matti (Daniels) McAnally in Stuart, Oklahoma and passed away at home August 13, 2012 in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Juna attended school in Stuart until she moved with her parents to McAlester, Oklahoma where she finished her senior year. After high school, Juna was an operator for Southwestern Bell in McAlester, Tahlequah, Oklahoma City, and Harlingen, Texas, before receiving a Bachelors degree Speech Education from Central State University in Edmond. After her college graduation she was employed at John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City, Midwest City High School and Edmond High School.
She married Jack Dane Shaw in Miami, Oklahoma on October 18, 1959, an extremely happy union that lasted 34 years until his untimely death in 1994. Together they raised two daughters. After Jack was employed as a professor at Southwestern Oklahoma State College, Juna finished work on her Masters Degree and was employed as a part-time temporary speech teacher by Southwestern for five years.
She worked as a secretary in the Financial Aids office for a year before she became a teacher of English and was the Librarian at Arapaho High School, retiring in 1992.
She was also employed in the composing room of the Weatherford Daily News for a year.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Dane Shaw; parents, J.W. and Mattie McAnally; a brother, Justin McAnally; sister-in-law, Lorice McAnally; and beloved friends, Vestal Smith and Charlotte Lam.
Juna is survived by daughters, Dawn McAnally and fianc, Dan Price and her two children, Olivia Grace and Ethan Dean of Weatherford, Oklahoma, LeaAnn Williams and her husband, Kevin Williams and their two children, Christian Dane and Emily Rose of Norman, Oklahoma; step-daughter, Toni Barker and children, Kam, Kellie, and Jason; two brothers, Roger McAnally and wife, Nancy of Atoka, Oklahoma, Gene McAnally of Fairhope, Alabama; sister-in-law, Myrtle McAnally; nieces and nephews, Mike McAnally and wife, Sharon, Dale McAnally and wife, Patricia, Linda OHanlon, and Dennis Siedlecki all of California, Sue and Charles Phillips of Alabama; great-niece, Sheila Ganyard of Nevada; and wonderful, caring, and helpful friends, Doug and Holly Cavanaugh and their daughters, SaLana and Raevyn.
