Joyce M. (Carter) Taylor was born April 7, 1934, in Bryan County, Oklahoma to Claude "Jack" and Georgia Marie (Hall) Carter and passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years, 4 months, and 29 days.

The family moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1941. On September 12, 1951, Joyce married Arnold Palmer in Chicago. To this union they had four children, Bobby, Sharon, Carol, and Larry. They moved their family to Hydro in 1953 where she worked in nursing since 1958. Joyce graduated from nursing school in 1965 and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 46 years. On November 22, 1966, she married O.C. Taylor and they made their home in the Eakly area. Joyce enjoyed reading, church activities, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Memorials may be made to the Eakly First Baptist Church.

Joyce is survived by daughter, Carol Killman and husband, Dan Kapuchuck of Tulsa, Oklahoma; five grandsons, Shawn O'Brien and wife, Barb of Las Vegas, Nevada with their four children, Logan Palmer of Hydro, Oklahoma and his three children, Catlin Palmer and wife, Jamie of Weatherford, Oklahoma and their two children, Jared Killman and wife, Rachel of Skiatook, Oklahoma and their daughter, and Brody Palmer of Hydro, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Brandy Westreicher of Tulsa, Oklahoma and her two daughters and granddaughter; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, O.C. Taylor; two sons, Bobby and Larry; daughter, Sharon; and sister, Grace.
