Joseph Ray Stewart was born on January 6, 1945, in Dorchester, Texas to Joseph Clyde Stewart and Lena Mae (Sharber) Stewart.  He passed away peacefully on July 11, 2021, at his home in Corn, Oklahoma, at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 5 days.

Joseph was raised mostly in Texas and spent his time always working with his hands and taking care of his family at an early age due to his father's passing.  Joseph eventually was enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.  After serving in the military, Joseph lived in Dodge City, Kansas and met his wife, Joyce Lorene (Malan) Kingsley, at that time and married on March 14, 1968 in Dodge City, Kansas and later made their home in Corn, Oklahoma in 1972.

Joseph worked as a diesel mechanic for over 45 years at the Case dealership in Corn and later at John Deere in Weatherford.  Joseph was an excellent mechanic and enjoyed helping other including many area farmers with repairs over the years.  He enjoyed his time on the golf course with his wife and spending time with family, grandkids, and great-grandkids.  He joined Life Fellowship in 1992 and attended until his health conditions declined.  Joseph was always a loving husband, father, and grandfather and continued to pray God's protection over his family every morning while drinking his coffee and having time with God.  His faith and love for his family will be missed and cherished forever.

Joseph is survived by his three children; one daughter, Lorie Deffenbaugh and husband Tim of Clinton; two sons, Joseph Stewart II and his wife, Crystal of Edmond and Jerry Stewart and his wife, Susy of Edmond; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and step-brother, Milton "Cookie" Idell. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce of 53 years; one sister; and two brothers.
