Joseph Lee "Joey" Keener was born in Mountain Home, Arkansas on December 27, 1954. He passed from this life and into the arms of his Lord at his home in Weatherford, Oklahoma. His death at age 63 years, 10 months, and 2 days was unexpected and much too soon. He was proceeded in death by his father Isaac Joseph Keener and mothers Irma Lee Stout Keener and Mary Harris Keener. He is survived by brother Tom and his wife Debbie Keener of Mart, Texas, brother Eddie Keener of Vancouver, Washington, and sister Mary Ann Williams of Lawton, Oklahoma, as well as nieces Angela Caswell and Kristina Stevenson, nephew Andrew Keener, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Joey graduated from high school in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and attended Oklahoma Christian University and Southwestern Oklahoma State University, which resulted in him making Weatherford his lifetime home. Joey was a faithful member of the Weatherford Church of Christ for over four decades. He worked for 3M and Imation in Weatherford for over twenty-five years. He later worked as a custodian at West Elementary School and had just retired this summer. Joey was an avid sports fan and a lifelong OU Sooner fan. Joey also had the amazing gift of conversation and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He was a kind, gentle and loving person who will be missed by his family and many friends.
