John William McPhearson was born May 20, 1941, in Weatherford to John Willard and Mayme (Dumas) McPhearson and passed away Friday, September 24, 2021, at his home in Oklahoma City, at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 4 days.

John was raised and attended school in Hydro, graduating from Hydro High School in 1959.  He earned a bachelor degree from OSU Tech in Okmulgee.  On July 25, 1980, he married Doris Fletcher in Garland, Texas.  John worked as a draftsman for Texas Instruments and then moved to Hydro where he owned and operated the McPhearson Stone Quarry, southeast of Hydro. He drove a truck in later years.  John enjoyed fishing, going to the Music Jamboree, car racing, and loved playing the guitar and music.  He enjoyed watching his family grow.

John is survived by two sons, Vance McPhearson and Jay McPhearson and wife, Tracie all of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Lisa Bridgeforth and husband, Chuck of Yukon and Kimm McPhearson and partner, Jamie Brown of Gainesville, Florida; one brother, Bob McPhearson and wife, Jodi of Durant; five grandchildren, Monica, Chris, Hailey, Addison and Sarah; and along with many special friends and family.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris; one sister, Ann Gillingham; and one son, Ric Wells.
