The world lost a special person on Saturday, August 29, 2015. John Malone was born on November 20, 1962 in Alamogordo, New Mexico, to John A. and Marlene (Anderson) Malone. He graduated from Alamogordo High School in 1980. While living in Plainview, Texas, John met and married Ronna Vanderslice on August 7, 1993. John grew up in the mountains and loved the outdoors. He had the ultimate green thumb and could grow anything. He especially loved hunting and fishing with his friends and was known for his incredible kind, friendly, happy disposition. The pride of his life was his daughter, Jonna.

John worked as a manager in various companies his whole life. He started working in the grocery store business before he turned 16 and worked his way up to store manager. He then worked at K-Mart in Plainview, Texas before transferring to the Weatherford area to be closer to Ronnas family. He was a long-time manager of Mazzios Pizza before managing Tractor Supply. He was working for Ace Hardware at the time of his death and was scheduled to manage the new Altus store when it opened. John was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident near Cooperton, OK on Saturday evening.

John was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, John Malone, and a brother, James. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Ronna Vanderslice; daughter, Jonna; his mother, Marlene Quarrell and her husband, Mike; a sister, April South and her son, Scotty; and a brother, Joe. He is also survived by cousins and many special friends too numerous to mention.

The family is eternally grateful for the compassion shown to them during this difficult time.
