John William Kliewer Sr. was born on August 13, 1925 in Corn, Oklahoma to Willie and Matilda (Suderman) Kliewer and passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Corn Heritage Village of Weatherford at the age of 93 years, 3 months, and 25 days.

John was raised west of Corn and attended Pleasant View Rural School and Corn Bible Academy. John accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized into the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church on September 28, 1941 at the age of 16. After high school, he served in the Civil Public Service for two years before returning to the Corn area to begin farming, which he did for over 70 years. On January 1, 1953 he married Lillie Reimer in Corn, Oklahoma. He farmed wheat and raised cattle, not retiring until the age of 90 years. John enjoyed farming, gardening, riding horses, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Corn Bible Academy.

John is survived by two sons, Warren Kliewer and his wife Eileen, and John Kliewer and his wife Lori, all of Weatherford, OK; two brothers, Roy Kliewer and his wife Maralea of Corn, OK, and Allen Kliewer and wife Arlene of Denver, CO; one sister, Mildred Wichert and husband Norman of Fairview, OK; four grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lillie; one sister, Elsie Ratzlaff; one brother, Jacob Kliewer; granddaughter Kandace Kliewer; and grandson, Kasey Kliewer.
