Obituary

Joe Logan Baxter was born October 2, 1990, in Hobart, Oklahoma to George Wesley Baxter and Kathy Lynn (Holliday) Baxter and passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 27 years, 1 month, and 26 days.

Joe was raised and attended school in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, graduating from Lone Wolf High School, class of 2009. In his high school years he played football for Hobart High School; basketball and baseball at Lone Wolf High School. Joe worked at Planter's Coop in Lone Wolf and also attended Western Technology Center where he graduated in 2009 with a degree in Auto Collision Repair. After high school he attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Western Oklahoma State College, and earned his CDL from Caddo Kiowa Technology Center. Joe worked at Weatherford International, Tesco, Sandstone, EFS, Progressive, Casedhole, and was currently working at R & R Trucking. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and friends, riding four-wheelers, shopping at Bass Pro, playing Putt Putt, movies, sleeping, and coaching T-Ball. Joe will be remembered as a gentle person and a great foster Dad to numerous children in over 2 ½ years. Memorials may be made to Life Share.

Joe is survived by his father, George Baxter of Altus, Oklahoma; his mother, Kathy Baxter of Hobart, Oklahoma; his fiancée, Ellen Delana "Lana" Balentine of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; his children, Justin Balentine and Alexis Baxter of the home; two brothers, Christopher Baxter and fiancée, Lisa Holden and their children, Billy, Brai'Lynn, and Addison of Cordell, Oklahoma and Michael Baxter and wife, Rebecca and their daughter, Jocelyn of Hobbs, New Mexico; maternal grandparents, Johnny Robinson of Quanah, Texas, Frank and Elizabeth Lamb of Hobart, Oklahoma and Patricia Holliday of Corn, Oklahoma; uncles, DeWayne and Sharon Holliday of Watonga, Oklahoma, Mark Stutzman and Rick Stutzman of Frederick, Oklahoma; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Lloyd Holliday; paternal grandparents, George and Mary Baxter; step-daughter, McKenzie Balentine; and mother-in-law, Janet Males.
