Memorial services for Jerry LeRoy Purintun, 72 year-old Yukon, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, November 7, 2015, 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Clinton, Oklahoma with Rev. Roland Youngberg and Rev. Bob Younts officiating. Services are under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford.
Jerry was born July 12, 1943, in Lexington, Nebraska to Vernon and Margery (Hollibaugh) Purintun and passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at his home in Yukon, Oklahoma. Jerry was raised and attended school in Gothenburg, Nebraska and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1961. He received his Bachelors Degree in Education in 1965 from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and his Masters of Science in Education in 1972 and was also a member of the Class VII Leadership Oklahoma. On June 6, 1964, Jerry married Clydene Rhoadarmer in Overton, Nebraska. He taught school for 8 years from 1965 to 1973. He was involved in banking in Nebraska until 1985, when they moved their family to Weatherford, Oklahoma and he worked at United Community Bank and later Bank First. In 1998, they moved to Clinton where he worked at Oklahoma Bank and Trust from 1997 until 2010. In 2010, Jerry and Clydene moved to Yukon and he retired from banking. Jerry enjoyed all different types of sports, going to his familys activities, being a grandfather, and spending time with his family. Memorials may be made to the Integris Hospice or a charity of your choice.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Clydene of their home in Yukon, Oklahoma; three sons, Darin Purintun and wife, Kathy of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Curtis Purintun and wife, Kim of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Stuart Purintun and wife, Stacey of Weatherford, Oklahoma; two sisters, Janis Taylor and husband, Jerry of Salina, Kansas and Jolene Jankowski and husband, Al of Omaha, Nebraska; father-in-law, Clyde Rhoadarmer of Overton, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Nancy Purintun of Kearney, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Larry Fester of Ogallala, Nebraska; and six grandchildren, Ben, Nick, Cassandra, Shiann, Sydney, and Kamryn. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Judy Fester; mother-in-law, Doris Rhoadarmer; and brother-in-law, Lynn Purintun.
