Norma Jean (Friesen) Jones was born on January 26, 1940 to Menno and Leona (Dawson) Friesen in Custer City, Oklahoma. She passed away on January 6, 2026 in Seiling, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 11 days.

Jean was raised in Custer City and attended all her schooling there. This is where she met J.C. Watt and they married in August of 1957. To this union, 3 children were born - Rick, JeanAnn and Paula. Jean also helped raise her 2 step-children, Chuck and Sherry. After moving to a couple of different towns throughout the years, the family settled in Yukon, Oklahoma. Jean worked for several years at Western Electric in Oklahoma City. She was on several bowling leagues while she lived there and was also a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for the girls' troops. After the passing of her husband, J.C., Jean moved the kids to Thomas, Oklahoma. She stayed in Thomas until October 2025 when she moved into the nursing home in Seiling.

While in Thomas, Jean worked many years at The Bank of the West (formerly American State Bank). She continued her joy of bowling as well, and was on many bowling leagues. Jean was also blessed with 5 grandkids during this time.

Jean is survived by her daughters, JeanAnn and Paula; brother, Phil Friesen & wife Devona; sisters, Peggy Dickerson & husband Kenneth & and Betty Shepherd; sister-in-law, Cheryl Friesen; 4 grandkids, Jaci (Jeff) Heaton, Riley (Lyndee) Hamar, Kynsee (Blake) Combs and Keela (Matt) Hoffman; 4 bonus grandkids, Brock, Scott, Jennifer and Samantha; and 11 great-grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C.; son, Rick; her parents, Menno and Leona; grandson, Keith; brother, Robert; brother-in-law, Derman; son-in-law, Rusty; and great-grandson, Josten.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Custer City Masonic Cemetery with Rex Yoder officiating.
