Jaunita Pearl Snow was born on June 8, 1924 in Eakly, Oklahoma to Marvin and Arvilla (Thiessen) Porter and passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at in Weatherford, Oklahoma, at the age of 94 years and 15 days.
Jaunita was raised and attended school in Weatherford. In 1938 she married Woodrow Tanner and together they had two children, James and Charlotte. They made their home in Weatherford, Clinton, and Wichita, Kansas. She later married Lavern Snow in 1946, and they lived in California, Missouri and Arkansas before returning to Oklahoma and making their home in Eakly. They moved to Weatherford in 1955 and she began working with her family. Beginning in 1962, she owned and operated the Porterhouse Restaurant for 21 years. Jaunita loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, cooking, playing cards and attending music shows. Memorials may be made the Grace Assembly of God Church in Weatherford.
Jaunita is survived by one son, James Tanner and wife Charlene of Weatherford, OK; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and six, great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lavern; one daughter, Charlotte Jean Tanner; one grandson, Vern Tanner; and two sisters, Priscilla and Betty.
