Funeral services for Janice Gay Klaassen, 70 year-old Clinton, Oklahoma resident, will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2016, 2:00 P.M. in The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home with Bryan Johnston officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford.

Janice was born November 19, 1945, in Weatherford, Oklahoma to Ray Phillip and Fern (Bruner) Bergner and passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016, at the Methodist Retirement and Health Center in Clinton, Oklahoma. Janice was raised on the family farm north of Weatherford where she enjoyed time with her family, and riding her horses which she loved. She attended Weatherford Public Schools and graduated from Weatherford High School in 1964. After graduation, Janice attended beauty school to pursue a career in cosmetology. She married Donnie Lee Klaassen on June 9, 1968, and they made their home in Clinton, where she worked at local hair salons until her retirement. Janice was a loving wife and she cherished the love and companionship she shared throughout the years with Donnie. She never lost her love for animals, especially horses, and after retirement she enjoyed spending time with her horse, Coco, and her Schnauzer dogs. Janice also looked forward to family gatherings with her family.

Janice is survived by her husband of 48 years, Donnie Klaassen of their home in Clinton, Oklahoma; four nephews, Kelly Gaunt and wife, Tonya of Clinton, Oklahoma, Todd Gaunt and wife, Samantha of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Larry Bergner and wife, Cindy of Adair, Oklahoma, Terry Bergner and wife, Janet of Marlow, Oklahoma; two nieces, Lynne Cornell of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Tammy Smoot and husband, Glenn of Weatherford, Oklahoma; and many great-nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Laverne, Doyle, Max, Carroll, Bill, and Larry; and one sister, Twila Gaunt.
