James Jim Nial Williams was born on July 5, 1937 in Moxahala, Ohio, to Vernon and Boyd Lillian Williams and passed away at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at the age of 74 years, 8 months, and 9 days.
Jim was raised in Crooksville, Ohio and graduated from Crooksville High School. Following graduation he joined the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War. After serving in the military, Jim attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma and graduated with his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1971and his Masters of Education in 1972. He taught at Northwestern and also at Kingfisher; Wellington, Kansas; Elk City; Chisholm and Muldrow public schools. He married Sue in Enid, Oklahoma on April 7, 1977. Jim also worked as a chemical engineer in the oilfield and in 1984 he began working for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and became a Regional Principal before he retired in July of 2009. He was a Mason, active in the Weatherford R.C. Flying Club, and an avid OU fan. He enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with all of his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sue of the home; two sons, Steve Williams and his wife, Dianne of Rowlett, Texas and Joey Bales and his wife, Angie of Elk City, Oklahoma; a daughter, Amy (Hooter) Remmert and her husband, Kevin of Chicago, Illinois; six grandchildren: Danielle Shortcake Williams; Mason Two Williams; Robin Smoke Bales; Matthew Bales; Spencer Remmert and Kendall Six Remmert. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Beverly Williams.
