Funeral: 11:00 AM Thursday, September 24th, 2015St. Eugene Catholic Church

Funeral services for Jake William Kixmiller, 89 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Eugene Catholic Church in Weatherford with Father Mark Mason officiating. Burial will follow in the Hydro Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Jake was born on December 23, 1925 in Weatherford, Oklahoma to Henry and Emma (Albrechet) Kixmiller. He was raised in Weatherford and attended Weatherford public schools. Jake was drafted into the US Army in 1945. The following year he married Rachel Johnston on January 9, 1946 in Hydro, Oklahoma. Later that same year in November of 1946, Jake received his Honorable Discharge from the Army. The couple moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where Jake worked as a Park Ranger. In 1973, Jake and Rachel moved their family to Weatherford, where he worked for True Value Hardware and Weatherford Public Schools. After he retired, Jake enjoyed woodworking and working on cedar chests, he enjoyed his family and being outside.

He is survived by his wife: Rachel of the home in Weatherford; one son: Anthony Kixmiller and his wife Beverly of Weatherford; three daughters: Vivian Glidewell of Weatherford; Cathy Barber of Ada, Oklahoma and Patricia Payne of Weatherford, 14 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents, a daughter Linda, his older brother Lloyd Kixmiller and three sisters: Sylvia, Florence and Clara.
