Jacquelyn "Jackie" Ruth Newby was born April 26, 1938, in Bridgeport, Texas to James and Mary (Nabors) Van Hoose and passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at Corn Heritage Village in Weatherford, Oklahoma, at the age of 79 years, 5 months, and 21 days.

Jackie was raised and attended school in Bridgeport, Texas and graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1956. Upon graduation, she started working at a bank. On August 11, 1961, Jackie married Darrel Newby in Bridgeport, Texas and they made their home in Oklahoma City. She worked in the banking business for 44 years before retiring in 2000. In 2014, she moved to Weatherford to be near family. Jackie enjoyed reading, crocheting, listening to the "Gather" music, and spending time with family and friends.

Jackie is survived by her daughter, Rachelle Grubb and husband, Shawn of Weatherford, Oklahoma; her son, Randall Newby of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; seven brothers and their wives, Bill and Darlene Van Hoose of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jim Van Hoose of Ft. Worth, Texas, Jerry and Norma Van Hoose of Bridgeport, Texas, Travis and Betty Van Hoose of Bridgeport, Texas, Dale and Laquita Van Hoose of Watagua, Texas, Tommy and Kim Van Hoose of Bridgeport, Texas, and Larry and Cathy Van Hoose of Decatur, Texas; and two grandchildren, Derek Grubb and wife, Anna of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Jordan Stinson and husband, Jay of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Patsy, Janie, and Sherry.
