Obituary

Jack Edward Olson was born January 11, 1952, in Fairview, Oklahoma. He was raised by his mother, Leta Gleason Olson, and his father, Alden Olson.

His young years were spent in various Oklahoma towns where his father worked on construction projects. Jack moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma in 1959, with his family, including his brother, Lewis, and sister, Roxana. When Jack was 12 years old, he joined the First Baptist Church and was baptized. Jack graduated from Weatherford High School. After attending Southwestern Oklahoma State College for a short time, he worked in construction for 20 years. He took great pride in all the things he helped build in Oklahoma and Texas. In 1991, he went to work for the City of Weatherford. Jack married Linda Sullivan in 1998 where they made their home and both worked for the City of Weatherford. Jack had a strong work ethic and he believed in doing his very best at whatever task was at hand. He believed in fairness and he strived to live by the Golden Rule. Jack attended the First Church of God in Clinton for many years.

At the time of his death, he was a member of the Southwestern Christian Church in Weatherford. He rescued and found homes for many cats throughout the years. He was a friend to nature, as his hobbies were bird watching and gardening. He was a master gardener and participated in multiple Audobon Society bird counts.

Jack is survived by his wife of the home, sons Jason Sullivan and Kelly Sullivan and wife, Shannon, grandson Jay Wyatt Sullivan, granddaughter Beth Anne Sullivan, sister Roxana Hamilton, brother Lewis Olson and wife Christy, nieces Angie Cheney and Amanda Haynes, nephews James Haynes, Pike Olson, and Ben Ballard.
