Huston
Veal
January 28, 1942 – May 6, 2023
Huston Veal was born January 28, 1942, in Ringgold, Texas to Harvey and Edora (Valentine) Veal and passed away, Saturday, May 6, 2023, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 8 days.
Huston was raised and attended school in Colony. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1958 and served for 2 years. Returning home, he married Donna Faye Brooks on September 15, 1960, in Colony, where they made their home and in Weatherford. Together they were blessed with two children, Monte and Shelly. As an adult, he was baptized and gave his life to serving Christ as his Savior. In 1976, they purchased the Eakly grocery store and made their home there. Huston was called into ministry and he surrendered to preaching in the late 1980s. During this time, he preached in many churches in Caddo County. In 2004, Huston and Donna sold the grocery store and Huston had the opportunity to continue sharing his love for Christ and was called to pastor at Pleasant Valley Church and later as pastor at Swan Like Baptist Church for 12 years. Huston enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, travelling, watching sports, and being outdoors. He leaves a legacy of sharing Christ in his everyday life to make sure everyone had the opportunity to know Jesus.
Huston is survived by his wife of 62 years, Donna Veal of their home in Eakly; one son, Dr. Monte Veal of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Shelly Shaw and husband, JD of Weatherford; four grandchildren, Tamra and Gregg Gober, Tanae Shaw and Matt Thompson, Charity and Osiel Ortega and Chastity and Jacob Beck; and eight great-grandchildren, Eli and Ellie; Noah, Luka and Emma; Harper, Asher and Abby. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Don and Bobby.
