Memorial services for Herbert Duane Burton, 78 year-old Eakly, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018, 1:00 P.M. in "The Chapel" of Lockstone Funeral Home with Brother Billy Burton officiating.

Duane was born December 10, 1939, in Eakly, Oklahoma to Herbert Shelly and Jessie Eldora (Maxfield) Burton and passed away, Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the Clinton VA Center in Clinton, Oklahoma. Duane was raised and attended school in Eakly and the family later moved to Bakersfield, California and he graduated high school in 1958. He served in the U.S. Navy for 13 years after high school. Duane married Vonda Joyce Bryant in 1969. They lived and worked in Newburgh, Indiana; Orlando, Florida; Syracuse, N.Y.; and then returned to Eakly where they lived for 18 years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, building, casinos, history, family genealogy, and collector of rocks. Memorials may be made to the Clinton Veterans Center.

Duane is survived by his son, Gary Burton of Sioux City, Iowa; three daughters, Michell (Eddie) Cain of Eakly, Oklahoma and Dana Espey of Bronston, Kentucky, and Jody Seyferrth of Delaware; five brothers, Arvin (Janet) Burton of Cedar City, Utah, Jessie Edward Burton, Lonnie (Betty) Burton, Bob Robert (Julie) Burton, and Phillip Burton all of Bakersfield, California; two sisters, June Roberts and Jewell Burton both of Bakersfield, California; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vonda Joyce Burton; two brothers, Donald J. and Thomas J.; one sister, Laura Eldora; one son, Terry Bryant; four grandchildren, Donnie Seyferth, Anthony Burton, Jackie Cain and Alan Cain; and one great-grandson, Kache Espey.
