Harold Ray McSperitt was born February 5, 1939, in Ada, Oklahoma to Henry Roland and Alta Mae (Vaughn) McSperitt and passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at his home in Cement surrounded by his family, at the age of 80 years, 3 months, and 10 days.
Ray was raised and attended school in Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma. He was known around town as "Ray". At the age of 18, he met the love of his life, Shirley Ann Wells, and they were married March 4, 1957, in Carnegie, Oklahoma. They were married for 62 years. He started out working on a farm. Ray later drove a truck going cross country for over 20 years and was in the oil field for 20 years. Ray enjoyed racoon hunting, riding his horses, his dogs, and spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Vicky Mulkey of Watonga, Oklahoma; four sons, Marty McSperitt of Cement, Oklahoma, Mark McSperitt of Watonga, Oklahoma, Monty McSperitt of Maysville, Oklahoma, and Keith McSperitt and wife, Valerie of Lookeba, Oklahoma; one sister Lorene Price of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; twenty-one grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; five brothers, Paul, Dale, Wilburn, Thurman, and Alta; one sister, Agnes; one daughter, Imogene; and one grandson, Pacer McSperitt.
