Harold
Goldmann
April 14, 1925 – July 2, 2020
Harold Goldmann was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on April 14th, 1925 to David and Marie (Spaet) Goldmann.
Harold dropped out of high school after the 9th grade to work and help support his family. He entered the service at 18 years of age and fought on the front lines in Italy, France, and Germany. He was shot in the head, captured, escaped, recaptured, and spent the last 5 months of his service in a German prison camp where he lost half his weight in this short time. He received a bronze star for heroic service and a purple heart.
He finished high school and attended Columbia International University and received his B.A.
Harold went back to Germany to serve as an evangelist and missionary. He learned the German language and spent four years traveling all over Europe.
He returned to Columbia International University and met Betty Montine (Luther) Jenkins. They were married on June 27, 1959. Betty was widowed in 1955 and had two sons.
After marriage, Harold adopted Betty's two two boys, Alfred Michael and Wilbur Warren.
They attended seminary in South Dakota and after graduation were sent to Argentina to lead a seminary, training Argentine young men using the German language. After 4 years, they returned home due to Betty's health and were unable to return to Argentina. At that time, God gave them a daughter, Elizabeth Anne.
Harold and Betty had a great burden for reaching the lost and their goal in life was to know Christ and make Him known. They served as pastor at churches in Weatherford, OK; Albuquerque, NM; Fort Morgan, CO; Sabetha, KS; Omaha, NE; Vixburgh, OK; and Bessie, OK. They officially retired in 1991 but still kept serving the Lord. In 2018 at the age of 93, Harold retired once again from preaching.
Harold Goldmann went home to be with the Lord and was reunited with his wife on July 2, 2020, 14 years to the day after Betty's death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Marie Goldmann; his wife, Betty; one sister, Hannah; and brothers Ray, Elmer, Ruben, and Richard.
