Gerald Dean "Jerry" Butler was born March 6, 1952, in Watonga to Billy and Vera (Coody) Butler and passed away Monday, July 19, 2021, at home in Weatherford, at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 14 days.
Jerry was raised and attended school in Guymon, Clinton and Weatherford, graduating at Weatherford High School in 1970. He enlisted in the Marines for 2 years serving in Vietnam. After his service he worked in the oilfield as a wildcat driller, drove a semi-truck for Roadway and then back to the oilfield with BJ Services and Baker Hughes as a Bulkplant Supervisor where he retired. Jerry enjoyed fishing with his family and friends, watching football and was an avid OU and Dallas Cowboy's fan.
Jerry is survived by three sons, Michael Dan Butler and wife, Jaime of Enid, Steven Eugene Schreiner of El Reno, and Austin Butler of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Joanna Marie Schreiner of Oklahoma City and Gabriella Vera Butler of Yukon; one brother, James Dylan Butler and wife, Mihaela of Oman; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Mitch; and two sisters, Charlotte and Diane.
