Obituary

George Garland Ogan was born September 16, 1929, in Tyrone, OK to Lester and Elizabeth (Grice) Ogan and passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020, at his home in Weatherford having reached the age of 90 years, 6 months, 11 days.


George was raised and attended school in Tyrone until eighth grade. A few years later he was drafted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Julia Canada on June 26, 1954 in Guymon. He moved to Weatherford in 1957 and worked as a farm hand, station attendant, and as an appliance technician for Tautfest for 30 years. He retired and started his own business, Lonesome George Ogan's Appliance Repairs. He married Barbara Harris on October 5, 2001 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and they made their home in Weatherford. George was a very devout believer in our God and Lord Jesus Christ, and he is now with our Lord in HEAVEN.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia; one daughter, Anna Marie; three brothers, Dexter, Frank, and Sam; and one sister, Esther.


George is survived by his sister, Norma Edens of Weatherford, OK; wife, Barbara Ogan of their home in Weatherford, OK; son, Locklin and wife, Sheila Ogan of Rockwall, TX.; one daughter, Ronda Ogan of Weatherford; three step sons, Yancy Harris and wife, Cami of Weatherford, Kevin Harris of Elk City and Terry Bob Harris and wife, Leisa of Elk City; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
