Gene was born January 31, 1933, in Hydro, to Arthur Perry and Ocie Kathleen (Packard) Kidd and passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in Hydro.

Gene was raised and attended school in Hydro graduating from Hydro High School. In her high school years, she played basketball and was crowned Miss Hydro in 1951. She received an Associate Degree from the Business College in Oklahoma City and started bookkeeping for Jameson Chevrolet for many years. Gene enjoyed bowling on a league, playing games with the grandchildren and was quite the fisherwoman and Thunder fan. She was caregiver to her grandparents; parents; children; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gene is survived by her son, Danny Black and wife, Marta of Hydro; grandchildren, Jared and April Black, Jacy Black, Jantz Black, Krista and Chris Maggard, and Kerri and Scott Unruh; great-grandchildren, Kierstyn, Aunika, Rachel, Jude, Christopher, Adrian (Maelyn), Jacob, Cooper and Jack; step-sister, Carole Sauer and family; and sister-in-law, Sidonna Black and family; and special cousin, Betty Pieper. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ocie Kidd; daughter, Kathy Johnson Dumond; sister, Patsy Lyle Kidd; and step-mother, Ruby Kidd.
