Genary Janet Dorgan was born on September 13, 1937 in Canute, Oklahoma to Lewis and Bertha (Morgan) Spear and passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020 at her home in Weatherford, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 7 months, and 11 days.

Genary was raised south of Canute and attended Canute High School graduating with the Class of 1955. She attended the University of Oklahoma School of Nursing. On November 24, 1956 she married James Dorgan Jr and they made their home in Midwest City. The family lived many places during her husband's military service—including Glendale, AZ, Okinawa, Japan, Del Rio, TX, Spokane, WA, and Elk City, OK. In 1984 the family moved to Weatherford, OK.

Genary enjoyed spending time outdoors—hunting deer and camping. She was an extraordinary cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, reading, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling with her husband and playing Bingo.

Genary is survived by her husband, James Dorgan Jr of the home in Weatherford; one son, James Dorgan III of Burns Flat, OK; three daughters, Dianne Baldwin and husband Ken of Mustang, OK, Linda Heins and husband Mark of Choctaw, OK, and Kathy King and husband Steve of Weatherford, OK; thirteen grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Vera Spear.
