Obituary

Geary Lee Seifried was born February 1, 1951, in Taloga, Oklahoma to Delbert and Vera (Smith) Seifried and passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Weatherford Regional Hospital at the age of 68 years, 4 months, and 1 day.

Growing up with his two brothers, Dennis and Randy, on his parents' farm south of Seiling, Geary soon learned the value of hard work by running machinery, digging postholes, building fence, working cattle, feeding hogs, hauling hay, milking cows….
Following his graduation from Seiling High School in 1969, Geary began his first summer job at Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company. In the fall,

Geary attended Southwestern State College where he met his future wife Cathy Ratzlaff, an incoming freshman from Fairview, Oklahoma, and they were married in Fairview on October 2, 1971.

Geary soon discovered his lifelong future as a new employee for Art Penner at Southwestern Refrigeration and learned the skills of the air conditioning and heating business as well as becoming a sheet metal foreman for the company. Eventually, in November 1990, Geary opened his own business SouthWest Air Conditioning and Heating, Inc, which was still under his ownership.

Over the years, Geary had become an airplane pilot, a golfer, a Weatherford Eagle Sports Club Booster, a WHS football press box volunteer, a WHS Track Booster, a WHS Band Booster, WMS Cheerleading Booster and a Sunday morning volunteer at First Baptist Church. His most favorite titles of service, however, included faithful husband and best friend, loving dad, and much-loved grandfather.

Geary is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cathy Seifried of their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma; son, Seth Seifried of Weatherford, Oklahoma; daughter, Julie Stalder and husband, David of Weatherford, Oklahoma; two brothers, Dennis Seifried and wife, Donna of Weatherford, Oklahoma; Randy Seifried and wife, Marquita of Seiling, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Andrea and Peydon Stalder; and one brother-in-law, Larry Ratzlaff of Orienta, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Vera Seifried and his father and mother-in-law, Otto and Nora Ratzlaff or Orienta, Oklahoma.
