Funeral Services for G.B. Stotts, 85 year-old Corn, Oklahoma resident, will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church in Corn, Oklahoma with Ken Gardner officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM in Marlow Cemetery in Marlow, Oklahoma under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford.

G.B. was born February 17, 1927 in Foster, Oklahoma to Gillie and Pearl (Clark) Stotts and passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Corn Heritage Village in Corn, Oklahoma. G.B. attended school and graduated from Burris High School in 1945. After graduation, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving three years in Germany. Following his tour of duty with the Army, he was in the Army Reserve, which allowed him to serve his country again during the Korean War from 1950 to 1951. Between WWII service and the Korean War, G.B. attended East Central State College, then graduating with a B.S. in Industrial Education. He then attended Oklahoma State University the following year receiving his Masters degree. On May 27, 1950, he married Louise Cannaday, his wife of 34 years. From this union came four children: Gregory Stotts, Ronald Stotts, Barbara Nurnberg, and Timothy Stotts. G.B. taught high school in Bray, Oklahoma for five years and Riverside Indian School for six years, then went on to be a professor at Murray State College where he received Teacher of the Year in 1967. He taught at Southwestern State College where he was known as the Father of Technology until retiring in 1985. G.B. was a devoted father and teacher. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, and always had projects he was working on.

G.B. is survived by two sons, Ronald Stotts and his wife Susan of Waterford Connecticut, and Tim Stotts of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one daughter Barbara Nurnberg and husband Robert of Corn, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Heather Sturgill, Becky Stotts, Natasha Melton, Lee Nurnburg, Ginnifer Heinrichs, Jessica Nurnberg, and Melissa Jones; and eleven great-grand children. G.B. is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gregory Stotts; and one sister Roma Allen.
